ACC Action Advocates for Conservation in the Farm Bill
WASHINGTON, DC – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) welcomes the Senate Agriculture Committee’s advancement of the Farm Bill out of committee and urges continued work to build bipartisan support for the legislation and ensure the Conservation Title is adequately resourced.
ACC Action Managing Director Andrew Mills said, “After years of extensions and delays, America’s farmers and ranchers deserve a Farm Bill that empowers them to conserve their land and ensure productive farming for years to come. Senators from both sides of the aisle must come together for a strong Conservation Title that provides the resources needed to meet producer demand for popular conservation programs.”
ACC Action supports numerous conservation priorities in the Senate’s current draft of the 2026 Farm Bill. While new programs, including the Forest Conservation Easement Program and State Conservation Assistance Program, are welcome additions, Congress must also ensure existing programs, such as EQIP and CSP, have the funding, staffing, and technical assistance needed to meet producer demand. Repurposing unobligated spending can help USDA implement new initiatives while maintaining the capacity of existing, oversubscribed programs.
Empowering our nation’s original conservationists is imperative. ACC Action looks forward to working with Senate leaders to ensure this year’s Farm Bill crosses the finish line and does exactly that.
