Sam Kessler
Samuel Kessler is the Senior Government Affairs Manager with ACC. Prior to this role, Sam was the inaugural Republican Congressional Fellow from the Climate Solutions Foundation, housed with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, focusing on a variety of energy & environment areas during reconciliation. Previously, Sam founded the Commonwealth Policy Institute in Kentucky, a pilot think-tank which connected state university research insights to coalitions crafting bills in the state assembly, and linked policy solutions with Congress.
Sam is a George Mitchell Scholar, holding an MPP from University College Dublin. In Ireland, Sam worked to research & deliver a strategic plan to the chair of the agriculture committee of the Irish Parliament and Ireland’s Department of Agriculture to introduce wide-scale regenerative sphagnum agriculture to Ireland to transition remaining peat markets and support restoration. Sam also previously worked as a policy analyst with Ireland’s Insight Centre for Data Analytics on Horizon Europe’s EU WaterLANDS project, the USGS, and Kentucky Resources Council. Sam is a proud Kentuckian, holding a B.S. in Environmental Analysis and an individualized B.A. in Industrial Ecology & Public Policy from the University of Louisville.
