ACC Reacts to Results of 2020 Presidential Election

WASHINGTON -- The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) congratulates President-Elect Joe Biden.

In 2017, ACC was founded to give young conservatives a voice on the environment. Today, we work with young Americans across the political spectrum in every state in the country, building a better environmental movement that prioritizes meaningful action.

The ACC activist network is a politically diverse group with passionate Trump, Biden, and third-party supporters. Despite an incredibly divisive election, we are united in our passion for effective, market-based, fiscally conservative environmental solutions.

During his Presidency, Donald Trump signed important environmental legislation including The Great American Outdoors Act, the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act, and the Save Our Seas Act. However, the Administration did not prioritize climate policy, and the president’s rhetoric and action on the issue was insufficient.

ACC President Benji Backer said: “During the Trump presidency, ACC worked with the administration to promote pragmatic environmental solutions, and we plan to do the same during the Biden Administration. The planet is too important to refuse to work across divisions, and our mission to effectively address climate change and other environmental challenges continues.”

ACC looks forward to working toward serious environmental policy for the rest of the Trump presidency and into the Biden Administration.
