The American Conservation Coalition Activates Support
on Behalf of the Restore Our Parks Act

The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) conducted an incredibly successful three-day advocacy campaign on behalf of the Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act (H.R.1225) and the Restore Our Parks Act (S.500).

This legislation would address the National Parks Service’s $12 billion deferred maintenance backlog. During the campaign, 308 emails were sent to U.S. Senators and Representatives, urging them to support the bill in their respective chambers.

ACC’s Government Affairs Director Quill Robinson said: “National Parks are a truly American idea. At a time when our political system is so dominated by conflict, the bipartisan effort behind the Restore Our Parks [and Public Lands] Act gives me hope. In the last three days, hundreds of students from across the country wrote to their legislators in support of this bill. Sending it to the President’s desk will not only be a win for our parks but a win for bipartisanship and effective government.”

On Tuesday, ACC was thrilled to see the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee advance S.500. ACC urges all members of Congress to support this crucial legislation and act to protect our national parks.
