ACC Action Commends House Passage of the 2026 Farm Bill

WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) is pleased with House passage of the 2026 Farm Bill, despite some remaining hurdles as the bill heads to the Senate.

The Farm Bill expired in 2023, and Congress has passed three extensions rather than pursuing a full, robust Farm Bill. This cycle must end to ensure American farmers have the resources they need to grow our food and conserve our land. This historically bipartisan legislation must return to its roots during this critical time for our nation’s farmers.

ACC Action Managing Director Andrew Mills said: “We applaud efforts from Chairman Thompson to move this bipartisan legislation through the House chamber. While there is still work to be done , it is a sign that Congress is prioritizing our nation’s original conservationists. We look forward to working with the Senate to seize those opportunities and make this legislation even stronger.”

ACC Action was encouraged to see the inclusion of several of our conservation priorities, building upon the good work done in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to secure conservation funding for farmers. It was also encouraging to see the liability shield for pesticides, like glyphosate, stripped from the House bill. Senate Farm Bill negotiations should focus on resolving remaining issues, including agency staffing challenges to ensure there is robust expertise where we need it most.

Congress must deliver a comprehensive Farm Bill for our farmers and ranchers this year. ACC Action looks forward to working with our allies to make this bill law.
