ACC Action Releases Climate Policy Agenda for 118th Congress
WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) released an innovative climate policy agenda for the new Congress today.
The agenda focuses on four policy areas: permitting reform, nuclear energy, critical minerals, and natural climate solutions. ACC Action sees the recommendations in this policy agenda as not only the best avenues for effective climate action in 2023, but also opportunities for bipartisan cooperation.
From fast-tracking clean energy projects and ally-shoring critical mineral supply chains to reforming the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and creating an all-of-government wildfire resilience strategy, the agenda recommends several legislative pathways forward.
ACC Action President Benji Backer said: “We’re proud to release a policy agenda that is both ambitious and actionable. Focusing on these policy areas, which align with The Climate Commitment, is the best path forward for legislators who are serious about addressing climate change, and we hope to see both Republicans and Democrats embrace these recommendations.”
The American people overwhelmingly want legislators who support immediate action on climate issues, and ACC Action looks forward to working with the Republican leadership to get smart, effective climate policy across the finish line. Read the entire policy agenda here.
