33 Organizations Call on House Republicans to Act on Energy & Climate Priorities
WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action), joined by 32 organizations, sent a letter to Speaker McCarthy and House Republican leadership calling on legislators to act on the priorities laid out by the House Energy, Climate, and Conservation (ECC) Task Force last year.
The ECC Task Force was formed by then-Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and later became part of The Commitment to America. The ECC Task Force focused on the following policy areas:
Now that House Republicans are in the majority, they must act on these priorities and pass legislation that protects our environment and bolsters our economy. From streamlining onerous regulations to unleashing American energy to compete with the likes of Russia and China, House Republicans must work to reduce emissions, increase energy reliability, and lower costs for consumers.
ACC Action VP of External Affairs Christopher Barnard said: “The American people want a cleaner environment and lower energy costs. House Republicans can deliver both through smart legislation. The 118th Congress is a prime opportunity to pass common-sense energy and environmental policy.”
ACC Action looks forward to mobilizing our thousands of grassroots activists to support these policies and priorities. Read the full letter here.
