ACC Applauds President Trump’s Signing of the Great American Outdoors Act

WASHINGTON -- The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) applauds President Trump for signing the historic Great American Outdoors Act today in the East Room.

The Great American Outdoors Act was introduced by Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) and championed by a bipartisan group of legislators including Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), Representative Mike Simpson (R-ID), Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Representative Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ). The bill passed both chambers with overwhelming majorities earlier this summer.

ACC President Benji Backer said: “The passage of the Great American Outdoors Act is an incredible moment in the history of the conservation movement. Americans will now be able to enjoy our nation's beautiful National Parks and public lands for generations to come. The American Conservation Coalition's members at over 200 branches across the U.S. thank congressional leaders and the president for their leadership."

ACC members are now seeing the results of their passionate advocacy for this legislation. More than 800 emails and countless social media posts have led to this moment. During an incredibly divisive time in our nation, our leaders were able to unite for our national parks and public lands. ACC and our activists look forward to protecting America’s best idea for generations to come.
