WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) has released a matrix showing where Republican presidential candidates stand on energy and climate issues.

The matrix is designed to include five questions: acknowledging climate change as a result of human activity, support for reducing emissions, support for nuclear energy expansion, support for permitting reform, and support for domestic clean energy to reduce dependence on China. Rankings were decided based on candidates’ previous statements, legislative votes, and platforms.

ACC Action CEO Danielle Butcher Franz said: “Young conservatives want to support the presidential candidate who prioritizes fighting climate change and bolstering our economy. For the conservative movement to stay relevant, we must make climate a priority, which is why we created this matrix to show the American people where the candidates stand.”

In addition to the matrix, ACC Action is hosting forums with each Republican presidential candidate in New Hampshire, in partnership with the state’s Young Republicans and College Republicans. To learn more about the series, visit this webpage.

The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing the conservative environmental movement.
