  1. Since the early days of ACC and ACC Action, we have focused on reconnecting young conservatives to a conservation ethos by hosting grassroots events like hikes, clean-ups, and tree plantings.
  2. On Earth Day 2024, ACC hosted “Clean Up America,” a contest among local branches to see who could clean up the most trash from a local park or recreation area.

  1. In a surprise moment of bipartisanship at the end of the 118th Congress, the EXPLORE Act, championed by House Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-AR), passed the Senate. President Biden signed the bill into law.

  1. Since its inception, ACC has consistently provided members with grassroots opportunities to learn more about the importance and benefits of nuclear energy, including expert panels, film screenings, and even visits to nuclear power plants.
  2. Hundreds of young advocates have taken “Nuclear 101” on ACC’s Market Environmentalism Academy since its publication in 2021.
  3. ACC Action and ACC consistently serve as nuclear thought leaders through social media content and other educational resources.

Amplify

  1. Throughout 2023 and 2024, ACC and ACC Action published dozens of op-eds advocating for the expansion of nuclear energy, specifically next-generation technologies and the ADVANCE Act, including in outlets like The Washington Examiner, RealClearEnergyand local outlets.
  2. In November 2023, ACC Action hosted a fly-in with Miss America 2023 Grace Stanke to advocate for both the ADVANCE Act and the Nuclear Fuel Security Act on Capitol Hill. Our team met with legislators on both sides of the aisle, including the ADVANCE Act’s architects, Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and now-former Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV).
  3. Senator Capito, Miss America. and ACC Action President Chris Barnard advocated for the ADVANCE Act in a collaborative Fox News op-ed.

Influence

  1. The House version of the ADVANCE Act, entitled the Atomic Energy Advancement Act, passed the House one month after the ACC Action fly-in.
  2. The Senate followed suit in July of 2024, and the bill was signed into law by President Biden.

  3. During our fly-in with Ms. Stanke, ACC Action advocated for the passage of the Nuclear Fuel Security Act, in addition to the ADVANCE Act.

Influence

  1. The Nuclear Fuel Security Act passed with the National Defense Authorization Act in December of 2023 and was signed into law by President Biden in early 2024.

Agriculture: The Growing Climate Solutions Act / December 2022

Congress Recognizes America's Farmers As Conservationists

  1. Through ACC’s educational Rooted In America campaign, members learned about the importance of smart agricultural practices in conserving our land and reducing pollution.
  2. ACC members visited and volunteered on regenerative farms to learn more about how farmers are leading the charge.
  3. Nearly 100 members took the “Using Nature to Fight Climate Change” course on the Market Environmentalism Academy.

  1. We hosted an educational virtual event with Growing Climate Solutions Act House co-sponsors Reps. Don Bacon (R-NE) and now-former Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) to increase awareness about the bill.
  2. ACC Action members and staff wrote numerous op-eds advocating for the bill’s passage throughout 2021 and 2022.

Influence

  1. The Growing Climate Solutions Act passed the Senate with a massive 92-8 majority in the summer of 2022.
  2. The bill passed Congress as a part of the 2022 end-of-year omnibus and was signed into law by President Joe Biden.

  1. ACC instills a deep appreciation of America’s natural heritage in our volunteers, helping them visit national parks all across the country.
  2. ACC’s #MyNationalParks social media campaign encouraged members to highlight their unique connections to our nation’s public lands.

  2. More than 800 advocates sent letters to their Members of Congress, urging them to pass the bill in 2020.
