Bipartisan Senators Introduce Growing Climate Solutions Act
WASHINGTON — The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) applauds Senators Mike Braun (R-IN), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) for introducing the Growing Climate Solutions Act today.
This legislation lowers barriers to entry for agricultural and forestry workers into carbon credit markets. The bill would also promote private-public partnerships to connect landowners to resources that maximize both their climate and economic potential. For more information on the provisions, visit this page.
The Growing Climate Solutions Act exemplifies market-based climate action, as proposed by our own American Climate Contract.
ACC Vice President of Government Affairs Quill Robinson said: “Natural carbon sequestration is an important tool in the fight against climate change. With the help of the Growing Climate Solutions Act, America’s farmers and foresters will be better equipped to leverage carbon markets and help the United States continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We thank Senators Braun, Graham, Stabenow, and Whitehouse for their leadership.”
We look forward to working with these senators to promote realistic, actionable climate solutions that not only protect our planet, but stimulate our economy.
