ACC Commends Introduction of LWCF-ROPA Bill in Congress

The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) is encouraged by the introduction of The Great American Outdoors Act in Congress today. The bill, sponsored by Senators Manchin (D-WV) and Gardner (R-CO), will provide a bipartisan way forward to ensuring that these crucial environmental issues are secure. Last fall, hundreds of ACC students from across the country reached out to their Senators and Representatives, calling on them to take action and protect our parks.

ACC Chief Operating Officer Danielle Butcher said: “At a time where politics may seem divisive, it is uplifting to know that we can rally behind protecting and investing in our public lands. Our National Parks and public lands are a beloved part of our heritage, and home to some of our nation’s most iconic sites. It is exciting to see Congress prioritize our parks so they may be enjoyed by all Americans for generations to come.”

ACC looks forward to continuing to advocate for more promising solutions such as the one we’ve seen today.  The environment should not be a partisan issue, and the cooperation demonstrated by today’s bill points to a hopeful and more productive path forward on the issues that matter most.
