ACC Action Applauds Bipartisan NEPA Reform Efforts
WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) applauds House Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-AR) and Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) for introducing the SPEED Act.
The Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act would streamline the environmental review process, ultimately increasing efficiency among federal agencies.
ACC Action President Chris Barnard said, “With increasing energy demand, forest fire risk, and other challenges, American energy developers and landscape stewards must be able to move quickly. With the SPEED Act, Chairman Westerman and Rep. Golden are leading the bipartisan charge to rescind unnecessary barriers that prevent us from responsibly unleashing all forms of American energy and properly managing our landscapes.”
ACC Action has long championed comprehensive regulatory reform. By shortening review timelines and reducing frivolous litigation, the SPEED Act is an encouraging step forward to expedite critical energy and conservation projects.
