ACC Action Reacts to One Big Beautiful Bill’s Passage

WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) applauds certain components of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, despite the challenges that come with large, all-encompassing pieces of legislation.

“While a large reconciliation bill is not the best policymaking vehicle, the final legislation preserves key policy levers needed to unleash clean, firm energy here in the United States. We are pleased that the LPO will continue to finance much-needed energy innovation projects and appreciate Congress’s work to acknowledge the critical role of nuclear, hydropower, and geothermal resources,” said ACC Action Managing Director Andrew Mills.

Throughout negotiations this year, ACC Action was a strong advocate for American energy dominance by promoting incentives for clean, firm technology while ensuring project certainty for immediately deployable sources of energy, securing financing for the Loan Programs Office (LPO), and bolstering conservation funding for our nation’s farmers.

Starting in 2023, ACC Action has championed voluntary conservation programs for American farmers through op-eds, farm visits, and more than 24,000 direct touchpoints from our members with their representatives. Since Senate negotiations began, ACC Action sent more than 1,600 emails to senators urging them to pursue policy that would bolster, not hinder, American energy production at a time when demand is soaring. In early June, Energy Secretary Chris Wright expressed support for nuclear and geothermal tax credits and the LPO at the Energy Imperatives Summit, an event co-hosted by ACC Action’s sister organization, the American Conservation Coalition.

In the coming months, ACC Action will continue to advocate for more American energy production by highlighting the importance of bipartisan permitting reform to remove barriers in the way of critical energy projects coming online.
